Having your latest major project or proposal authorized by your employer or manager can take time, hence why Microsoft known for products like SharePoint debuted its updated Approvals tool in Microsoft Teams earlier this year.

The Approvals app is accessible from any chat or channel discussion, as well as through the specific app entry point in Microsoft Teams’ left navigation bar.

All you have to do now is open the app and put in the approval’s information, such as the title, description, and users who need to authorize it, before hitting ‘Send.’ To adapt the query to your business needs, you may include assets from Microsoft’s office products or bespoke answers.

After a request is made, approvers are alerted inside Microsoft Teams and can react on it either straight from the conversation using the Approvals card or using the personal app. They may also swiftly study the approval’s specifics inside Teams before deciding whether to approve or disapprove it.

Since unveiling the Teams Approval App in January of 2020, Microsoft is currently working on a new function for it that will be released next year.

As per a recent article on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, when initiating a new approval request in Teams, users will be able to designate Microsoft 365 groups as approvers.

For those who aren’t aware, In Microsoft 365, groups allow you to select a group of individuals with whom you want to work and quickly create a collection of materials for them to share. A shared Outlook mailbox, shared calendar, or a OneDrive document library for file cooperation are examples of these resources.

Microsoft Team users will be capable of submitting approval requests to their Microsoft 365 groups once this new functionality is ready, which might be beneficial if approvers aren’t using the company’s video conferencing software or online communication platform.
