Microsoft Teams will be introducing games for its users to make the platform more entertaining.
If rumors about Teams new addition are true, your conference call will become a bit distracting. Thanks to the games feature that will be coming on the video conferencing platform.
Apparently, Microsoft Office 365 productivity app is gearing up to introduce a variety of games on the platform. The company is doing so to boost users’ morale and provide them an activity during break times
According to some sources, Microsoft is adding many of the Windows classics to Teams including all-time favorite Solitaire.

Many games from the company’s games platform are lined be a part of this addition. However, it’s not like Microsoft is encouraging employees to have complete gaming sessions throughout work hours.
Instead, it appears that the plan seems more like killing a few minutes. Say if you’re waiting for somebody to join the call, with a quick game of Connect 4 you can spend the waiting period.
As for now, Microsoft has declined to respond to the rumor when asked about it by technology websites.
Such a move would make sense, however, given the company’s push in recent months to make using Microsoft Teams seem less of a chore
Various updates have been rolled out to make Teams more enjoyable to use, including various generations of avatars representing you in a call with Together mode showing a live avatar for each participant.
The avatars can wave, pat each other on the back and even give each other a high-five. They also help video call participants by showing real emotions and facial expressions, who often appear disengaged.
The company has also outlined plans to soon introduce 3D avatars along with more immersive Microsoft Teams meetings within the so-called “metaverse” later in 2022.
Microsoft, for a very long time tried to make Teams a hub of work. It succeeded in doing so. Now the addition of games, if the rumor is true can be both a good thing and a bad thing. The good thing is it is good for team building activity, creating frankness among colleagues however it can be bad if the employees spend most of their time playing games. It is a two-way blade so only time can tell how it all unfolds.
