Now you can easily share Team channels with your clients and colleagues.

Microsoft is gearing up for a new update for Teams. It will open several collaboration opportunities for every business in the global market.

The company explained in a new Microsoft 365 entry that it will be releasing the Teams Connect shared channels feature soon to all users. This feature was launched for a limited preview in March of this year.

This feature allows users to invite external users into a shared Teams environment. This renders opportunities for cross-business collaboration with clients around the globe.

Shared channels in Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams reached the heights of success ever since the pandemic started. Currently, it has 270 million active userbase. The video conferencing platform focused on communications between colleagues.

The release of Teams shared channels will make this platform more of a hub of cross-business collaborations. It will offer a secure environment for businesses to have video conferences, and exchange information and files.

Our world has become virtual, especially during the pandemic. Workplace collaborations are now digital, and cloud-based. This interconnectedness needs cross-organizational, global collaborations.

The Teams Connect shared channels can bring multiple organizations on a shared space. They can have meetings, co-authored files, and project collaborations without switching to any app.

Microsoft wants to make Teams a central hub, a platform for every organization to work on. The Teams shared channels are an effort to bring businesses together with the idea of cross-business collaboration.

Now Microsoft is investing resources into creating an ecosystem for third-party apps on the platform. This lessens the need for users to switch apps to complete tasks. So everything could be done on a single platform.

Normally communications between different businesses take place over email but Microsoft is bringing communication to Teams. It will reduce the waiting period between email correspondence. The new Shared Channels feature will provide a meeting as well as a project platform for businesses. This will give opportunities to many businesses to collaborate.
