Microsoft is adding an automatic password saver, sidebars, and picture-in-picture mode for a smoother browsing experience.

Microsoft is mainly known for Microsoft Office versions, but the company has definitely made a name for itself with Microsoft Edge. Like any other product, Microsoft is making modifications to Edge to make it more user-friendly.

The company is adding major updates to Edge; which will enhance the user experience.

It is expected that users will have the option to have Edge remember their passwords automatically without the drag of them personally saving passwords. Hence slimming the chance of locking out of accounts or losing credentials. They just have to select “save passwords automatically” and Edge will take care of the rest.

Microsoft has previously introduced a password management solution by providing alternatives like LastPass and Dashlane but it comes at a cost. The purpose of these apps was to provide ultimate password protection but now it is opting for the cost-effective method by offering the option in browser “password manager” settings.

The in-built password manager is one of many ways Microsoft is attempting to keep Edge users secure, however. This onsite password manager is Microsoft’s attempt to protect Edge users from malware and cyber-attacks.

The company also introduced “Super Duper Secure Mode” offering maximum security in exchange for compromise of browser performance and functionality.

Microsoft also rolled out another update in January to prevent zero-day attacks and provide additional protection.

Apart from password management, web security Microsoft also updated Edge with the picture-in-picture button that appears above YouTube. This was done in an attempt to make it easier for users to open videos in the picture.

Another notable update the company is working on is the Edge is Sidebar, it allows users to search the web on Bing without opening a new tab. For now, this option is also available for accessing the calculator and reading emails on Outlook without leaving the current page, but this might expand to other apps.

Microsoft Edge is changing and making improvements for the better. Up until now, most people opted for Google Chrome but with these updates, there would be a major dynamic shift from Chrome to Edge!
