Google announced some new features of Chrome. From new PDF reader features to named browser windows, these new features can improve your work efficiency.

Google highlighted many features in its blog post on Thursday, such as improved browser performance, which has already been used by the company.

Thanks to the recent update, active tabs have a higher priority than unused tabs, which reduces CPU usage by 35%.

Google said it will freeze Chrome-based tabs, and Chrome will begin to freeze tabs in collapsed groups (and hidden tabs).

The tabs in the collapsed group will use less memory and CPU, which should provide users with a smoother and more optimized experience.

Google says this feature will be launched in Beta soon

At the same time, Google said that the process of sharing specific text on the page will be easier. Google has added a new “highlight link” feature, which allows you to highlight the text you want to share, right-click the window, and select “copy link to highlight”.

After sending the link, the person who opened the link will see the exact part you highlighted. This feature is now available on desktops and Android, and will soon be available on iOS.

Chrome browser will also introduce a new PDF reader function. There is now a sidebar for viewing PDF thumbnails, and a demo  mode to remove all interference on the screen, including toolbars, address bars, and tags.

In addition, Chrome has added document properties, a two-page view, and an updated top toolbar to make viewing PDFs more enjoyable.

Speaking of presentations, Google said that you can now mute notifications while presenting or sharing a Chrome window.

After the presentation, the notification will be muted. The new feature is designed to reduce distractions and allow you to focus on the task at hand.

Finally, Google said it will add a feature that allows users to name Chrome windows. Not to be confused with the tab group, the window naming feature will allow you to name each window, which Google says can help users stay organized.

The company says that you can press alt + tab to switch windows, or right-click a tab and select “move to another window.” Window naming joins the previously announced recently added tab search function.
